Playground in Bernardine Garden (Bernardinų sodas, B. Radvilaitės Str. 8A)

One of the most popular and picturesque playgrounds in the city center, located right at the foot of Gediminas Hill, next to the Vilnelė River. What’s there: many play elements for children of different ages – slides, swings, ropes, water games in the summer, a sandbox and small trampolines.
Pros: shaded area, cafes and toilets nearby, safe surface.
Cons: a lot of children on weekends, no cafes nearby.

Playground near the Church of St. Catherine (Šv. Kotrynos bažnyčia, Vilniaus str. 30)

An interesting playground next to the cultural center, well integrated into the urban environment.
There are swings, balance beams and original climbing structures. The space is quiet and calm, despite the proximity to a busy street.
Pros: safe surface, lively atmosphere.
Cons: suitable for children from 4 years old.

Playground in Lukiškės Park (Lukiškių aikštės parkas)

A modern, spacious playground on the edge of one of the largest city squares. Suitable for children of all ages. Multifunctional slides, ropes, climbing frames, soft surface. Nearby is a recreation area and a cafe.
Pros: lots of trees, nice in sunny weather.
Cons: can be cool, gloomy and damp, especially in not sunny weather.

Playground in Žemaitės square (Gedimino pr. 29B)

The playground was renovated in 2024 as part of a large-scale reconstruction of the square. Now it is located in the back of the square, away from the road, which increases children’s safety. The playground is equipped with modern play elements such as swings, hammocks and trampolines, and is also covered with a soft rubber surface.
Pros: there are cafes, benches for rest nearby, there is shade from the trees.
Cons: small there playground, roadway nearby.

Playground in Reformatų Park (Reformatų parkas)

In the western part of the park there are two play areas designed for children of different ages:

  • Playground for toddlers: with a sandbox, swings and small slides.
  • Playground for older children: with more complex play elements, such as a metal slide and rope structures.

Pros: Green and calm atmosphere, there are benches for rest, public toilets. Cafes and restaurants nearby.
Cons: there can be a lot of children on weekends or in the summer.

Playground near the White Bridge (Baltas Tiltas, Upės g. 6)

Large playground (there are slides, swings and rope structures suitable for children of different ages), safe rubber coating. Lively atmosphere (there are pedestrian and bicycle paths, basketball and volleyball courts nearby, as well as outdoor exercise equipment and a skate park).
Pros: view of the embankment, there are benches for rest, public toilets, food court and cafe.
Cons: no trees, so it can be hot on a sunny day.

Playground in the park in Rūdininkų square

Compact playground is ideal for short stops during walks around the Old Town. Equipped with basic play elements such as: swings, slide, climbing frames, sandbox. Ground covering – sand. Suitable for younger and middle-aged children.
Pros: location next to several cafes.
Cons: small playground, there is no shadow.

Paupys playground (Aukštaičių g. 7)

The playground is equipped with modern play structures suitable for children of different ages, safe surface. New residential area, where industrial buildings used to be located, and now there are apartments and many catering establishments, squares, alleys, pedestrian and bicycle paths, as well as recreation and art areas.
Pros: view of the river, lively atmosphere in the area.
Cons: more suitable for older children.

Playground in Užupis district (Užupio g. 32)

The playground is located in the very center of Užupis (Užupio skveras). The playground is not new, but it has everything you need: swings, carousels, slides, rubber flooring for the play area. There is a work-out zone nearby.
Pros: there is shade from the trees, there is a cafe nearby, benches for rest. The play area is fenced.
Cons: the playground is not new and is more suitable for younger children.

What else can you do with kids in Vilnius?

There are also many other exciting leisure options for children. For example, you can go to husky trekking along the picturesque forest trails in the Neris Regional Park. If you come to Vilnius in winter, you can go dog sledding here. Animal lovers will also enjoy a trip to a horse farm, where you can ride a pony or visit an alpaca farm.

If you do not plan to leave the city, a great option would be kayaking on the calm Neris River. In summer or winter time, older children will enjoy more active entertainment – for example, go-karting or laser tag.
